Hugely exciting face to face, (7) game WS, and 'uphill' win for the Albany Internationals over the Michigan Mad Dogs.
 

Game 1

Jordan Zimmerman tosses a no-hitter thru 6, and Villenueva finishes the one-hitter for the win. With two outs and one in the 5th, consecutive 2B's by Zobrist and Mauer, and and a BB to Choo is followed by a J Morneau 3-run homer to stun the home crowd who have little to cheer about the rest of the way.
 

Game 2

Brandon Morrow outduels CC Sabathia for the win, and Ogando records a 2 inning save as the Mad Dogs jump out to a commanding (2-0) series lead heading back to their home park
(2) International runners and (1) mad Dog runner thrown out at the plate in an exciting win for the visitors.

In a 'must win' game, Ted Lilly ends his International career with 5 innings of no-run ball, extending his improbable streak of scoreless innings to (3) consecutive playoff starts, and outdueling ace Cliff Lee. The game see-saws as Danny Espinosa and Travis Snyder exchange improbable 2-run homers in the 7th. WPolumbo plays the percentages bringing in Derek Holland to face PH Andre Ethier with 2 outs in the 8th. Ethier hits a run scoring double for the lead, and Mauer grounds into a 4-6-3 DP in the 9th to preserve the win.

Another pitching duel, as Zimmerman and Verlander lock up, with each pitching 6 1/3 before giving in to the bullpen. The MadDogs hit into a 6-2-3 DP in the 7th to end their biggest threat. Holland(!*!) gives up a run scoring 2B to Pujols and a 3-run dinger to Bautista in the 16th as the Internationals claw their way back to tie the series.

The MadDogs torch Sabathia for 10 hits and 5 runs over (6) innings and never relinquish the lead in a convincing game 5 win to take the series lead 3 games to 2. Brandon Morrow pitches another great game for the win. After (5) games the Internationals have scored just (4) runs against MadDog starters.

In another must win game, 40 yr old Bartolo Colon faces off against MadDog starter Cliff Lee Colon leaves after 7 1/3 WITH A NO-HITTER INTACT and a 2-1 lead. Lightening strikes in the 9th. With 2 outs and none on, MadDog slugger E Encarnacion hits a Ballprk HR to tie the game and silence the home town fans. The depleted International bullpen is forced to use its last available pitcher Chad Billingsley who tosses 4 1/3 shut-out innings for the win. John Mcdonald is the offensive hero for Albany, driving in the game's 1st run with a 2 out 1B, Homering for the lead in the 6th, and scoring the winning run in the 17th on a M Bourn no- out 1B.

Pujols GS in the 5th off of MadDog stopper Ogando puts the Internationals ahead for good in the hard fought series.
