History was made in Mississippi as Kolby Allard(1-0) tossed a no-hitter and the Mississippi Big Orange defeated the Richmond Banshees by the score of 2 to 0.

Allard was obviously at the top of his game as he set the Richmond batters down like so many dominoes.  He walked 5 Richmond batters.  The tension started to build around the 6th inning.  By the 9th inning the crowd was electrified.  Mississippi finished with just 5 hits in the victory.

Kenta Maeda (0-1) was charged with the loss.  Although losing the contest, he whiffed 9 batters in 6 and 2/3 innings.  "Not in my wildest dreams did I think this would happen!' Allard said as he stood at home plate to salute the fans.  "Once I got into the later innings, I decided to challenge every hitter, and that turned out to be the right decision!"

Kenta Maeda (1-1) thrilled the fans at Battle Grounds as he crafted a no-hit masterpiece against the McHenry County Cybermen.  The Richmond Banshees won by a final score of 7 to 0.

Maeda was cheered on with every out from the 7th inning onward.  The adrenaline had to be just pumping through his veins.  The atmosphere was electric out there in Battle Grounds tonight! He walked 3 McHenry County batters.  The tension was mounting with every inning after the 6th.  Maeda appeared oblivious himself to the mounting history until two were out in the 9th.  Only then, did he allow himself one deep sigh and a slow trip around the mound.  Richmond rapped out 11 hits for the night.

Jose Quintana (0-3) was the losing pitcher.  He allowed 6 hits and no walks in and 1/3 innings.  'Maeda made us look bad' Evan Steinberg said. "I've seen a lot of good performances in my time and this one will be tucked away in my memory bank for a long time to come"

The Stanford Robber pitching staff gave the fans an afternoon that they'll never forget by tossing a combined perfect game! The tension started to build around the 6th inning.  By the 9th inning the crowd was electrified and struckout 9 Kona Coast batters.  Stanford kept the pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different innings.

Miles Mikolas (5-1) allowed no runs in 8 innings, and picked up the victory. The losing pitcher was Dylan Bundy (3-5).  Stanford scored big getting 7 runs off him in 6 and 1/3 innings.

"You probably have a better chance of winning the lottery than this happening," said Mikolas who got credit for the win, "I don't expect it to sink in for awhile." he said. "You know, it's hard to say who was better, the starter or the bullpen!" Hmmmm.... kind of creepy that three (3) different players felt the same way about their No-Hitters!

2018

Week 14 - Game 2: Coffee Growers 2, Banshees 0.

NO-HITTER! Dylan Bundy pitched brilliantly for the Kona Coast franchise’s first no-hitter. Bundy struck out nine and walked only two in his complete game but the game was not without drama. In a scoreless game, Bundy walked Nick Markakis in the fifth inning with one out, and Jonathan Schoop booted Kevin Pillar’s ground ball for a  2-base error to put runners on second and third. But a GB (2B)-X by the next batter, Russell Martin, resulted in Schoop recording the out with no runner advancement. Dustin Pedroia flew out harmlessly to end the inning. After that, Bundy retired the next twelve batters in a row to finish strong. The closest thing to Bundy allowing a hit was Zack Cozart’s SI 1-8, GO 9-20 with a “13” split card to lead off the 7th inning. Whew!!

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the eighth as Banshee Carlos Carrasco allowed only 3 hits in his seven innings of shutout work.  Richmond brought in Anthony Banda to begin the eighth and Todd Frazier doubled off Banda’s card. Submariner Joe Smith came in and Austin Barnes doubled to drive in Kona Coast’s first run. One out later, Jonathan Lucroy walked and Marcell Ozuna singled home Barnes for the second run of the inning. Tommy Hunter finished off the inning but the damage was done. Three quick outs in the top of the ninth and the Coffee Growers flooded the field in celebration.

Wall Street fans certainly got their money's worth at NASDAQ Park.  Masahiro

Tanaka (2-0) pitched a rare no-hitter as the Wall Street Bulls toppled the

Stanford Robber Barons 6 to 0.

Tanaka had an evening to remember.  Heck, it's one we'll all remember! What a

game at NASDAQ Park! He had excellent control, walking only one.  The tension

started to build around the 6th inning.  By the 9th inning the crowd was

electrified.  Wall Street banged out 8 hits on the night.

Chase Anderson (0-1) was the loser.  "I gave it everything I had. It's probably

the greatest day of my life," Tanaka said. "I was out there focusing on my

catcher's glove, that's all. I just concentrated on pitching my game."

The Grand Rapids Micro Brewers pitching staff gave the fans an afternoon that they'll never forget by tossing a combined no-hitter!  The tension started to build around the 6th inning.  By the 9th inning the crowd was electrified.  Grand Rapids managed 9 hits in their victory.

The win was credited to Matt Shoemaker( 7-9) who went 6 innings allowing no runs. Shoemaker got help from Dale Thayer who was credited with his 7th save.  Anthony Ranaudo (0-1) was the loser.  He served up 3 homeruns in his 7 innings.

'You probably have a better chance of winning the lottery than this happening,' said Shoemaker who got credit for the win, 'I don't expect it to sink in for awhile.' he said. 'You know, it's hard to say who was better, the starter or the bullpen!'

July 15, 2012 -- Indianapolis Clowns @ Mississippi Big Orange

Ryan Vogelsong (8-4) thrilled the fans at Zelkind Field as he crafted a NO-HIT masterpiece against the Mississippi Big Orange.  The Indianapolis Clowns won by a final score of 2 to 0.

Vogelsong had overwhelming stuff tonight.  He simply never gave the Mississippi batters a decent pitch to drive.  He walked 2 Mississippi batters.  The tension started to build around the 6th inning.  By the 9th inning the crowd was electrified.  Indianapolis had only 2 hits for the night.

Jon Lester(10-4) ended up with the loss.  He pitched 8 innings allowing only 2 hits and 1 walk. 'I gave it everything I had. It's probably the greatest day of my life,' Vogelsong said. 'I was out there focusing on my catcher's glove, that's all. I just concentrated on pitching my game.'

2011

April 9, 2011 -- Wrigley Raiders @ Chicago Mob

Ryan Dempster (1-1) was on top of his game in Chicago as he tossed a beauty of a no-hitter against the Chicago Mob. The Wrigley Raiders won by a score of 8 to 0.

Dempster had his best stuff and was 'painting the black' with every pitch. According to Mob Manager, Larry Steinberg, "It was a beautiful game to watch". Dempster only allowed three runners to reach base during the game, all via walks.

The tension was.mounting with every inning after the 6th. Dempster appeared oblivious himself to the mounting history until two were out in the 9th. Only then, did he allow himself one deep sigh and a slow trip around the mound. Wrigley rapped out 12 hits for the night.

The loss was charged to James Shields (2-1). He was hit hard

2010

August 17, 2010 -- Albany Internationals at Missouri Mustangs

The Albany Internationals batters racked up a total of 23 runs and 26 hits while their pitching staff gave the fans an evening that they'll never forget by tossing a combined NO HITTER!! The tension started to buildaround the 6th inning. By the 9th inning the crowd was electrified. Albany kept the scorekeepers busy in the 5th inning when they had 7 runs on 7 hits and the 7th inning which saw them plate 6 runs on 5 hits. Albany had many opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6 separate innings.

Scott Baker (10-5) got the win allowing no runs in 7 innings. Dustin Nippert (4-2) was tagged with the loss. He was pinned with the loss despite not allowing an earned run in his 1 and 2/3 innings of work.

"You probably have a better chance of winning the lottery than this happening," said Baker who got credit for the win, "I don't expect it to sink in for awhile." he said. "You know, it's hard to say who was better, the starter or the bullpen!"

2009

Antioch fans certainly got their money's worth at The Coal Mine. Greg Smith (2-1 so far in 2009) pitched a rare no-hitter as the Missouri Mustangs toppled the Antioch Coal Miners 9 to 0.

Smith was just too much for Antioch. He walked 2 Antioch batters. The tension was mounting with every inning after the 6th. Smith appeared oblivious himself to the mounting history until two were out in the 9th. Only then, did he allow himself one deep sigh and a slow trip around the mound. Missouri banged out 13 hits on the night. Paul Maholm (3-3) took the loss.

"Smith made us look bad' Lawrence Green said. "I've seen a lot of good performances in my time and this one will be tucked away in my memory bank for a long time to come"

2008

In a pre-season game, Mike Mussina pitched a perfect game against Albany's A-team yesterday.
Can't remember the last time I participated in a no-hitter, and this is the first perfect game for sure.

Final line: 9-0-0-0-10. Milton Bradley whiffed on an 85 mph fastball to end the game.

I know if Kevin reported the result, even the 2 people who believed it would have viewed it as a shameless attempt at player promotion. I'm just glad this wasn't regular season face to face. The Internationals would still be running sprints in the OF!

2006 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

CLEMENS NO-HIT'S THE SEATTLE PILOTS

Roger Clemens (3-0) was on top of his game in Sin City as he tossed a beauty of a no-hitter against the Seattle Pilots. The Sin City Bounty Hunters won by a score of 4 to 1.

Clemens provided a brilliant, unforgettable performance for the hometown crowd at Nal Hutta Expanse evening. He walked 5 Seattle batters. The Sin City players and Coaches started to leave Clemens alone with his thoughts after the game reached the 7th inning.

By the time the 9th inning rolled around, you could hear a pin drop every time he went to his wind-up - and an explosion after every out. Seattle went down quietly in the 9th.

Mike Maroth (0-1) was the loser. He surrendered 2 runs and 6 hits in 4 and 1/3 innings. "Not in my wildest dreams did I think this would happen!' Clemens said as he stood at home plate to salute the fans. 'Once I got into the later innings, I decided to challenge every hitter, and that turned out to be the right decision!'

2003

May 4, 2003 -- 2003 Corpus Christi 'Cudas At 2003 Chicago Mob

A capacity crowd on Opening Day at Veeck Park saw a most improbable game; one that only HAL could come up with. Chicago Mob and G.U.S.S.O.M.O. history was made in "The Windy City" as Odalis Perez (1-0), with relief help from Roberto Hernandez, tossed a no-hitter and the Corpus Christi 'Cudas defeated the Chicago Mob by the score of
4 to 0.

Odalis Perez for Corpus Christi was outdueling Curt Schilling of the Mob 4-0. To be more precise, he had a NO-HITTER going into the bottom of the 8th inning, allowing only one walk to Sammy Sosa. The closest to a Mob hit is a BP HR (1-8) chance missed by Brian Jordan.  Up comes the Mob inthe 8th but what should appear in the play-by-play window but "Roberto Hernandez comes in to pitch for Odalis Perez"!!

Can't override HAL so a confused and hurt Perez has been removed with a NO-HITTER going and a 4-0 lead. There is a brief scare with a BP SI (!-4) in the 9th, but Roberto gets Derrek Lee to preserve what is a first for Chicago and surely a first for the 'Cudas; a two man no-hitter on opening day! Roberto doesn't even get a save for his efforts.

Corpus Christi came up with all the runs they needed in the 6th inning as they scored 4 runs on 4 base hits. The key at-bat was by Rob Mackowiak who silenced the stadium when he laced a single scoring two baserunners. Corpus Christi had only 6 hits for the game.

The loss was charged to Curt Schilling (0-1). He gave up only 5 hits and no walks in 7 innings. 'I gave it everything I had. “Es probablemente el major dia de me vida” (It's probably the greatest day of my life,) Perez said.  "Yo estaba ahi fuera centrando en el guante de mi receptor, eso es todo.  Yo solo me concentre en lanzar mi juego."  (I was out there focusing on my catcher's glove, that's all. I just concentrated on pitching my game.")

2002

2002 Fort Collins Force at 2002 Mile High Maggots -- September 9, 2002

Mile High fans certainly got their money's worth at the Ballpark.  Jon Lieber (4-0) pitcher a rare NO HITTER as the Mile High Maggots toppled the Fort Collins Force by a score of 8-0.

                                                         (Jon Lieber was "In Command!")

Lieber was spectacular.  He walked 3 Fort Collins batters.  The tension started to build around the 6th inning.  Bt the 9th inning, the crowd was electrified.  Mile High rapped out 15 hits for the afternoon.

Brian Anderson (0-1) was the loser.  He only pitcher 1/3 of an inning, giving up 3 hits, 2 runs and a walk.  It took a while to pry Lieber away from his teammates as they all wanted to show their appreciation and joy.  Finally, however, Jeff Fleischman got to offer his own congratulations with a big bear hug and the comment, "That was one of the best pitched games I have seen in all my years in Baseball and Strat-O-Matic.- Lieber was materful out there this afternoon!"
