Game 1

Bieber vs deGrom

Great pitching matchup. Bieber mowing down batters via K. Seattle hits 4 of possible 6 HR chances. Great rolls. Seattle also strikes out 20 batters. A late HR by Acuna gets Volbeat within 2 but they cant get the tying run up to the plate after that. 6-4 win for Seattle

Game 2

Fried vs Wainwright

Seattle strikes first again with another HR. This one by Teoscar.Moustakas hits a clear HR to extend Seattle’s lead 5-1.Then a huge 2 run error by Chapman opens the floodgates as Seattle pours it on. Winning going away 11-1. Volbeat with 4 errors leading to 6 unearned runs.

Game 3

Tommy La Stella cracked a homer as the Volbeat Ghost Archers topped the Seattle Pilots by a score of 5 to 0 at Phelps Phield.

Rich Hill (1-0) delivered a fine performance for Volbeat.  He went 5 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 hits and 1 walk.  Volbeat had 8 hits for the game andSeattle had 5. Lance McCullers (0-1) was given the loss.  Despite taking the loss, he whiffed 9 batters in 5 and 1/3 innings.

Game 4

Shane Bieber struck out 16 batters as the Seattle Pilots topped the Volbeat Ghost Archers by a score of 2 to 0 at Phelps Phield.

Bieber (2-0) was on top of his game.  He allowed just 3 hits and 2 walks in  7 and 1/3 innings reducing his ERA from 3.38 to 1.42.  Edwin Diaz was perfect in the ninth giving him his 2nd save on the season.

Tyler Glasnow (0-1) took the loss.  While he was the losing pitcher, he still

struck out 14 batters in 7 innings.  Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance

of Bieber - except Volbeat.  Jason Kip lamented, "He just was "on" tonight. He was keeping our guys off balance all game." 
 

Game 5

First baseman Pete Alonso launched 2 homeruns as the Seattle Pilots move into the Playoff Rounds by defeating the Volbeat Ghost Archers 4 to 2 at Phelps Phield.

Alonso made sure the Seattle fans enjoyed themselves.  He blasted a solo shot in the 4th inning, delivered a one-base hit in the 6th inning and smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 8th inning.  Edwin Diaz was perfect inrelief and got the save, his 3rd.

Max Fried (2-0) got the win allowing 2 runs in 5 innings. The losing pitcher was Jacob Degrom (0-2).  He served up 3 homeruns in his 7 and 2/3 innings.
