TAKE A LOOK AT THE KONA COAST COFFEE GROWERS....... +7 1/2  GAMES OVER THE VOLBEAT GHOST ARCHERS.......... AND THEN IN THE NORTHWEST DIVISION..... THERE IS LAST YEAR'S CHAMPION........ THE SHORELINE SOCKEYES......... ARE THEY REALLY THAT GOOD?? ........ MIGHT THIS BE THE START OF A DYNASTY??? ........  WELL, THEY'VE GOT ANOTHER POWERFUL TEAM (25-8) AND A +7 GAME LEAD OVER A HIGHLY IMPROVED PUYALLUP SPARTAN TEAM (24-21)........ THE SPARTAN TEAM COULD REACH THE PLAYOFFS AND THEN SURPRISE EVERYONE.........  ROCKY MOUTAIN HAS IMPROVED,,,,,, AND HAS A +3 GAME LEAD OVER THE GREENSBORO SMOKE.......... BUT THE OYSTERS (FOR NOW) MIGHT NOT (YET) BE IMPROVED ENOUGH TO DUKE IT OUT WITH THE "BIG BOYS" IN THE PLAYOFFS........ CHECK OUT WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE GREAT LAKES DIVISION....... THERE IS QUITE A BATTLE BREWING BETWEEN THE TULSA OILERS AND............. WHO??? ............ THE CHICAGO MOB??......... YES, I SAID THE CHICAGO MOB!! ........... THIS COULD BE A CINDERELLA STORY.... BECAUSE THE MOB IS ON   F-I-R-E !!!   AND THEY ARE ONLY  2 1/2 GAMES BEHIND A VERY STRONG OILER TEAM.................. WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER DIVISIONS??? .............. HOW CLOSE IS CLOSE??  IN THE SOUTHERN DIVISION......................... THE VIRGINIA DESTROYERS ARE HANGING ON TO A  +1/2 GAME LEAD OVER THE ALWAYS COMPETITIVE RICHMOND BANSHEES............. AND IN THE EASTERN DIVISION............... IT'S THAT ALBANY TEAM.......... AGAIN??........ YES...... AGAIN.  THEY HAVE ANOTHER VERY GOOD TEAM........ BUT ........THE INTERNATIONALS ARE ONLY +2 GAMES AHEAD OF BOTH THE MISSISSIPPI BIG ORANGE AND THE GILEAD GUNSLINGERS..............  YEAH........ WE'VE GOT A LOT OF EXCITING RACES AND VERY CLOSE COMPETITION GOING ON AS WE HEAD INTO THE HOT SUMMER MONTHS... WELL.... IT'S HOT EVERYWHERE EXCEPT IN COLORADO (BUT THAT'S ANOTHER STORY AND A SOON TO BE RELOCATION TO LAS VEGAS)................. IN G.U.S.S.O.M.O.... WE ALL WANT TO PLAY “CENTERFIELD”…

BECAUSE IT'S ALWAYS A BEAUTIFUL DAY FOR A BALL GAME...

 

 

Our League started in March 1971 as a "straight team" replay (League members managed  one of the actual Major League teams).  Jeff Fleischman is the League Commissioner, taking over direction and naming the League  G.U.S.S.O.M.O. two months into the beginning of the first season. The original Commissioner, (who was in the Air Force at the time), informed all the Original League members that he was being transferred from Northern California to Germany and that he would not be able to continue running the League. He sent all the League material (paperwork and statistics... minus, of course, the League treasury/dues) to Jeff... who re-organized and cleaned things up, and has been running the League ever since.
